Insigne linked with Serie A return for Fiorentina or Como | OneFootball

There are reports Italy international Lorenzo Insigne is close to a Serie A return for Fiorentina or Como after his time at Toronto FC.

The 33-year-old has a contract until 2026, but has for some months been linked with a possible move back to Italy.

According to DAZN pundit Orazio Accomando, Fiorentina are the favourites to snap Insigne up in the January transfer window, having already made an approach in 2024.

Another option is Como, where he would join the squad coached by Cesc Fabregas.

Insigne eager for Serie A comeback

It remains to be seen if this would be a loan move for Insigne, with an option to buy, or a permanent transfer back to Italian football.

The former Napoli captain made the move to Canada for Toronto FC as a free agent in the summer of 2022 after his contract with the Partenopei was allowed to run down.

He was able to score 18 goals with 13 assists in 63 competitive games for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer.
