Ansu Fati is already back at the Barcelona training facilities a week before the pre-season is scheduled to begin.

The 21-year-old is back at the club after a disappointing loan stint with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League and is eager to prove himself at his parent club.

Despite there being speculations that Ansu could be sold, the La Masia ace is likely to be given another chance by manager Hansi Flick.

Ansu Fati undergoes strength tests

In a bid to prove himself to the new management, Ansu Fati has already started training at Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva facilities and it appears that things are going well for him.

Indeed, AS reports that the young forward underwent a strength test supervised by the new physical trainer Julio Tous.

It is further stated that Fati aced those tests with flying colours, leaving a very positive impression on the new trainer and the staff.

This development gives the forward a much-needed confidence boost, especially given his past tryst with injuries and fitness problems while also reaffirming the club’s faith in him.

As such, Fati is fully prepared to start the pre-season at the same level as the rest of his teammates, thus clearing the first question mark over his condition.

Meeting with Deco

The report further states that Fati met with Barcelona director Deco last week to discuss his future and the club’s plans for him.

During the meeting, it was conveyed to him that Flick is willing to give him a chance in the pre-season and it is in his hands to convince the German coach.

However, the director also made it clear that Fati’s high salary – exceeding €10 million this season – is a serious obstacle to his continuity, especially taking into account the club’s fair play problems.

The strength tests are the first step in the right direction, but in any case, Fati still has a long way to go to convince Flick.
