Injury Hell: Rangers’ 8 men still completely missing this season at Ibrox

We alluded to this earlier in the internationals piece, but the number of Rangers players currently unavailable or not properly fit is still absolutely astonishing.

While a few players have returned to the full team, many more haven’t, and Ibrox Noise now takes you through player-by-player all the personnel still not properly fit:

OneFootball Videos

Robby McCrorie:

Whether unfit or unfavoured, McCrorie is as far away from the first team as he’s ever been, and hasn’t been seen on the bench since December last year. We have no idea what his prospects are.

Filip Helander:

Injury hell for the Swede who has been AWOL this whole season and much of his career. It’s all a bit moot because he’ll move on this summer, but we’d be stunned if he even gets a sub appearance before summer.

John Souttar:

Physically fit but has a bit of a road ahead of him to get match fit, and that means he won’t be starting too many for a while. Maybe he will defy us and get a start here and there?

Nicolas Raskin:

Injury hit him a couple of weeks ago and he’s had to miss a couple of matches – had to miss the international break entirely. Hopefully this isn’t a serious one.

Tom Lawrence:

Out for the season, there’s little more we can add to the terrible injuries the Welshman has sustained this campaign. A case of what might have been.

Rabbi Matondo:

Hideous start to the season on the pitch confounded by injury off it, Matondo has had a wretched spell in Govan so far. No ETA here.

Nnamdi Ofoborh:

We weren’t sure whether to include him, but the Nigeria player hasn’t kicked a ball for us and is now threatening to expose the ‘maltreatment’ that caused all this. Whether that was by his former club or us or someone else we don’t know.

Steven Davis:

Another one out for the season, Davo’s time at Ibrox is coming to an end anyway.

Kemar Roofe:

Said to have injured himself opening a letter, Roofe is out for the season as well. Words fail us and patience is thin on him.

Ianis Hagi:

He might be physically fit but he’s well short of match fitness. He’s been out for over a year and he looks sluggish, but thankfully he is at least back in the matchday squad. On and off.

Almost every single player here is a full senior international, and that gives you an idea of what Rangers are having to deal with this season with injury. 10 men, and a few of them, 8 to be exact, completely unavailable.

Not ideal.
