Barcelona have been under massive pressure over the past few weeks, attempting to stay alive in La Liga’s title race with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. And while it has been said time and time again at this point, the race may finally be over now. Barcelona traveled to Levante and drew 3-3 away from home in a woeful performance.
If the loss was not enough, the injury to the insult (literally) was chaos in the defence leading up to two injuries — Ronald Araujo and Sergi Roberto.
Araujo was enjoying a solid 45 minutes when he picked up an injury attempting a header, and had to be subbed off for Sergi Roberto at half-time. If that was not enough, Roberto’s horrendous defensive display was coupled with an injury he picked up in the last 10 minutes of the game. The only positive to that, though, was that Barcelona fans got to see Riqui Puig in action.
Atletico Madrid host Real Sociedad tomorrow while Real Madrid travel to Granada as part of the 36th game week, but it seems extremely unlikely that the capital outfits will let this slip from their hand.
