According to journalist Rodra (h/t Madrid Xtra), Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is recovering faster than expected and may return to action against Espanyol on the 21st of September.

Bellingham’s recovery has been progressing well since he got injured in a training session on 23rd August. Initial reports suggested that he would be out for five weeks, with a return planned for the derby against Atletico Madrid at the end of September.

However, his progress has been so positive that he could make an appearance a week earlier.

Interestingly, the English midfielder has found a silver lining in his injury by using the time to rest and recover, skipping the international break. He seems to be in good spirits, combining gym and pool workouts to accelerate his return.

His determination and hard work have not gone unnoticed, as he is doing everything possible to be match-ready as soon as possible.

His upbeat attitude has been a key factor in his quicker recovery, and it seems likely that he will be ready to feature against Espanyol.

The initial goal for both Bellingham and Real Madrid was to have him fit for the crucial match against Atletico, but given his progress, there is hope that he will return earlier.

If he does play against Espanyol, he may be rested for the midweek fixture against Alaves to ensure he doesn’t push himself too soon.

Despite being sidelined, Bellingham has remained involved and positive. He has taken advantage of this break to spend quality time in Madrid, enjoying moments with his loved ones.

Last Sunday, he was spotted in La Latina, dining at La Buha, and he graciously interacted with fans, signing autographs and taking photos.

Real Madrid have undoubtedly missed Bellingham’s presence on the pitch. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has tried various players, including Luka Modric, Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz, and Dani Ceballos, to fill his role, but none have delivered the impact that Bellingham brings.

His return will be a massive boost for the team as they navigate key fixtures.
