Injured Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has paid tribute to coach Zinedine Zidane.

The fullback has been forced out of Real's title race.

On Zidane, Carvajal said, “He's a very complete coach and beyond the trophies he's won, with three consecutive Champions Leagues and LaLiga in the midst of the pandemic, it's amazing the respect he commands in the dressing room.

"When Zidane speaks, all 5 senses are focused on what he has to say. He's been here as a player, as Castilla coach and now he's with the first team, he knows more than anyone what this badge and this club means."

On setting an example for homespun players at the club, Carvajal says he takes his role seriously.

He added: “It's a responsibility and incredibly flattering to serve as something for these guys in the academy to look up to and whenever I get the chance to speak to them, I make them see it's not impossible and that the dream of making the first team can come true."
