Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard is hoping to be fit enough to face Manchester City next month.
He won’t, though, feature in the Madrid derby on Saturday.
Hazard has been suffering with an ankle injury since a 2-2 draw with PSG on 26 November.
The Belgian, who returned to training last week, had been hoping to face Atlético Madrid at the weekend.
But, according to AS, the game will come too soon for him.
Hazard trained with the ball on Monday morning but did not join his Real Madrid team-mates for a full session.
Real Madrid paid around €100m for the ex-Chelsea star in the summer and are yet to see his best. As such, they’re reluctant to take any risks.
Instead, Hazard will be gradually reintroduced and there is a hope he could be ready to start in the Champions League clash against Manchester City on 26 February.
