Gabriel Martinelli’s injury status continues to cause concern among Arsenal fans, with the winger now pulling out of international duty with Brazil.

Earlier this month, Brazil called up Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli for the March international break, with the side set to face England and Spain away from home.

But Martinelli has since struggled with a foot injury, and Brazil have subsequently revealed that the winger has been replaced in their squad.

Posting earlier this week, Brazil’s official national team social media accounts confirmed that Martinelli has been withdrawn from international duty through injury.

Martinelli could be seen wearing a protective boot and walking with crutches at the Emirates Stadium last weekend, and he wasn’t involved in training this week.

Wenderson Galeno of FC Porto will take Martinelli’s place for Brazil this month.

Galeno has already been involved in a couple of incidents relating to Arsenal over the last few weeks, scoring the winning goal as Porto beat the Gunners at home before missing the final spot-kick as they lost at the Emirates Stadium.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Jesus hasn’t been named for Brazil, amid his recent struggles with a knee injury.

Jesus is back playing for Arsenal as a substitute, but there have been suggestions he still isn’t fit to start matches. Missing out on the March internationals seems like a good idea.

As a result, when Brazil face England on March 23rd at 19:00 GMT, then Spain on March 26th at 20:30 GMT, only Gabriel Magalhaes will be representing Arsenal in a Brazil shirt.
