Lucas Digne made his return in the clash against the Reds and will look to feature again in the next encounter with the Eagles. Ollie Watkins looked to deal with a setback coming out of the previous match but will likely be fit to feature in the weekend.

Steven Gerrard will opt for the same 4-3-1-2 formation against the Eagles. Philippe Coutinho will be looking to bolster Villa’s attack as an orthodox no. 8. Aston Villa struggled in the previous matchup, therefore they are looking to bounce back this weekend.

Defence

Emiliano Martinez will start in goal for the upcoming home encounter. The Argentine shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance.

Ezri Konsa would feature at the centre back position, along with Tyrone Mings, to form the heart of the backline.

Lucas Digne starts at the left-back position and Matty Cash might fill in on the opposite flank as the right-back. They will look to stretch the opposition defence and create chances for the forwards.

Ashely Young takes to the bench, hoping to make an impact in the second half if needed.

Midfield

Douglas Luiz and John McGinn will be positioned in the wide areas of the midfield. Marvelous Nakamba will hold the central midfield position. The midfield trio will look to create opportunities for the front-men.

Attack

Phillippe Coutinho will slot into the attacking midfield role in an advanced position looking to exploit the opposition’s defence.

Both Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings have struggled in the recent games, but they will be tasked to lead the line against Crystal Palace. Ings will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net along with Watkins.
