The Indian football team claimed a huge 4-0 win in their AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong.

The Blue Tigers have already qualified for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup courtesy of Philippines' loss against Palestine earlier.

Anwar Ali scored in the second minute followed by goals from Sunil Chhetri, Manvir Singh and Ishan Pandita to round off a brilliant win for the Blue Tigers.

The highlight of the game was Anwar Ali's goal as he scored four years after seeing his playing career effectively ended due to health issues.

After Ali's early opener, India cruised through the first half as they dominated proceedings and they doubled their lead just before half time.

The Blue Tigers started the second half on the front foot and ensured they earned all three points towards the end of the game courtesy of goals from Manvir Singh in the 85th minute and Ishan Pandita in the 93rd minute.

India had more chances to win the game with a bigger margin but they put their foot off the peddle in the middle of the second half before a flurry of two goals towards the end of the match.

This result had little consequence on India's qualification status as they have already qualified for the showpiece tournament next year.
