There were 25 Newcastle United players who started Premier League matches in 2023/24.
So who were your winners and losers, which Newcastle United players did you rate or not?
Always interesting to get an outside perspective and these season ratings for all 25 Newcastle United players (who started at least one Premier League match in 2023/24) come from WhoScored.
The whoscored ratings use data from every single Premier League match, over 200 raw statistics included in the automated calculation of a player’s rating, weighted according to their influence within the game.
Every event of importance is taken into account, with a positive or negative effect on ratings weighted in relation to its area on the pitch and its outcome.
Now whoscored have published season ratings for all Newcastle United players (in brackets the number of PL games each player started) in Premier League matches in the 2023/24 season, from top to bottom…:
7.37 Bruno Guimaraes (37)

I think that the whoscored top trio would match the top three of pretty much every Newcastle fan, though some fans no doubt having the three of them in a different order.
Those three of course are Bruno (7.37), Gordon (7.29) and Isak (7.14).
As for the rest of them, well, I think fair to say a canny few that many Newcastle United fans will be thinking have deserved higher overall ratings, plus maybe also a few that have been relatively generously treated.
