Talking to Het Nieuwsblad following his three goals in the 5-1 win over Eupen, Cercle Brugge Togolese international striker Kevin Denkey was full of praise for his manager. Asked about his goal scoring form, Denkey said “A lot of it has to do with confidence. We had worked with Miron Muslic for a long time and we knew how he approached football. He also immediately said that I was his striker and that he believed in me. So much trust moves mountains”.

Another revelation from the interview was that Denkey has yet to obtain a Belgian driving license. Instead of relying on taxis, club equipment man Albert Verbandt picks him up from his home and takes him to the stadium. Verbandt reportedly keeps trying to convince Denkey to get a drivers license.

Denkey’s three goals at the weekend mean that the former Nimes striker has five goals and four assists for the season.
