Bruno Fernandes provides fitness update as Manchester United gear up to face Liverpool in the FA Cup

Speaking to the club media (h/t Manchester United website), star midfielder Bruno Fernandes stated that he was fit ahead of the FA Cup 4th round fixture against arch-rivals Liverpool.

Fernandes has started all but one Premier League game this season for Manchester United. And he still came on to play one half in the game he didn’t start.

Moreover, the Portuguese maestro has also featured in 9 cup games, which takes his total tally of appearances to 28. That is certainly a lot for a playmaker considering that we’re not in even into February yet. (h/t Transfermarkt)

He featured heavily in United’s last 3 Premier League games in the space of almost 9 days. And the Liverpool game comes just a few days after United took on Fulham on Wednesday.

Bruno is a gamechanger

This has even prompted Pual Merson to state that the midfielder looks “tired” and can use some rest. But Fernandes says that he has recovered well and is raring to go for the cup game.

“Well, you always recover well when you win so I am ready for the next one.”

Forget about being rested, the Portuguese has his entire focus on winning the FA Cup game this weekend.

“I hope it can be a good game, but what is important for me is winning the game. But I hope and I am sure it will be a good game for the fans.”

While there is no indication if he will play against Liverpool or not, it remains clear that he can influence games all by himself. The former Sporting Lisbon star already has 15 goals and 10 assists this season.

And even when he is not among the goals, which is rare to begin with, he sticks out on the pitch and his desire to win games can lift the whole team up at times.
