According to transfer news from Daily Star, Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a sensational return to Chelsea. The Blues view their former player as an alternative to Erling Haaland and will go after him if the Haaland plan fails.

The Borussia Dortmund forward has become one of the most coveted players in Europe this season and a host of clubs are after him. He has blown through all goal-scoring charts this season and is one of the German side’s most prized assets.

However, with so much competition for his signature next season, Chelsea have made contingency plans. They have zeroed down on their former striker Romeu Lukaku in case they miss out on Haaland.

Lukaku has been in sensational form for Inter Milan since joining them in 2019. He is leading their title charge this season with his goals.

However, Inter are in a financial mess and that could lead to them having to sell one of their more sellable assets. The Belgian striker is no stranger to Chelsea given he spent three years at the club.
