The Bundesliga may be back but unfortunately that doesnât mean that other major leagues are quite so lucky.
With the Premier League remaining on hiatus, weâre imagining what may have went down on the final weekend âŠ
Leicester Cityâs James Maddison continues to be one of the names closest linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.
And he showed exactly why they want him with a standout performance against his prospective future employers at the King Power Stadium.
He scored a sublime free-kick and bossed the midfield, setting up Jamie Vardy for another as the strikerâs quest to finish the campaign as the leagueâs top scorer continued.
Unfortunately for the Foxes though, United have their own star man in midfield now too and Bruno Fernandes turned on the style in the second half, scoring twice to salvage a point.
How will those two potentially fit into the same midfield next season?
In the previous meeting between Arsenal and Watford this season, the Hornets racked up an impressive and worrying 31 shots on goal in a 2-2 draw.
But that was then and this is now. Unai Emery is gone and his compatriot Mikel Arteta showed what a turnaround there has been since then.
This time, his side were dominant and were the ones who racked up the high shot count, with three of those attempts finding the back of the net.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice and Eddie Nketiah came off the bench to head home and banish any remaining demons of their former coach.
Even in this universe, Newcastleâs wait for their takeover to finally go through and finally be free of Mike Ashley continues to drag in.
But at least in this one the fans have the distraction of actual football to keep them entertained right? Not where the champions are concerned.
Liverpool turned up on Tyneside in no mood to put their feet up and showed exactly why they were so dominant this season.
After Jonjo Shelvey scored against his old club to give the Magpies an early lead, Roberto Firmino took centre stage, scoring twice and assisting another to inspire his side to a 4-1 success.
Norwichâs mission impossible was unbelievably completed after they stunned Manchester City for the second time this season.
With Pep Guardiolaâs men having nothing to play for, a certain lethargy seemed to creep into their performance, which wasnât the case for the visitors who were fighting for their leagues lives.
They followed up their shock 3-2 win in this fixture earlier in the season by doing it again â this time in much more nail-biting fashion.
After Todd Cantwellâs strike after just three minutes, they faced an agonising 87 more but the Canaries held on to pull off the greatest escape since Steve McQueenâs antics in the 1960s.
The race for the final top four spot went all the way to the wire but it was Chelsea who ultimately came out on top to book their place back at the top table.
The visitors had already settled for a spot in the Europa League as the Blues capitalised on Manchester Unitedâs slip-up to complete their objective for the campaign.
In the previous fixture this season, Chelsea came out on top on an enthralling afternoon at Molineux with a 5-2 win but this one lacked much of the same excitement.
Christian Pulisic put his side ahead shortly before half-time and there was little else to report until Mason Mount put the game beyond doubt with a late second.
He had his doubters but Frank Lampard is certainly proving them all wrong in his first season.
West Ham dealt Aston Villa a lethal blow in their bid to avoid the drop as Michail Antonioâs lone goal in London settled this one and sent the visitors careering towards the Championship again.
Everton have no such worries. Their only concern appears to be which player their superstar coach is being linked with bringing to Merseyside next.
But the ones he has at the moment arenât too bad either. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored twice and Bernard and Morgan Schneiderlin chipped in with the others as they ran riot in a 4-0 win over Bournemouth.
Tottenham travelled to Selhurst Park and played out a 1-1 draw as Harry Kane, picking up form nicely ahead of the European Championship and shrugging off injury fears, had his opener cancelled out by a Luka MilivojeviÄ tap-in (yes really, it wasnât a penalty!).
Finally, Southampton picked up a somewhat surprising home win over Chris Wilderâs impressive Sheffield United, while Burnley and Brighton played out a 1-1 draw.
