Sadio Mané went a long way to becoming Player of the Season on Saturday as his hat-trick helped Liverpool beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang had given Mikel Arteta’s side an early lead, giving the north London outfit a glimmer of hope in their bid for Champions League football next season.

But, like we’ve seen so many times before, Arsenal’s defence fell apart like wet tissue paper, with Mané netting a superb second-half treble.

Rock bottom Norwich shocked Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to give their survival chances a shot in the arm.

Frank Lampard’s side continued to struggle in front of goal and missed a host of first half chances, thanks in large part to the wayward finishing of Olivier Giroud.

And the Blues would pay for that profligacy with just five minutes remaining as Todd Cantwell ghosted in at the far post to secure a vital three points for the Canaries.

Could Manchester United really do the impossible and qualify for next season’s Champions League?

The odds are looking good for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his side as they ground out a hard-fought away win over Crystal Palace.

10-man Palace battled well after having Andros Townsend sent off for a wild challenge on David de Gea in the first half.

But they couldn’t hold on as Dan James and Odion Ighalo scored one each in the last 15 minutes.

In what was arguably the weekend’s most important fixture, Leicester and Sheffield United played out one of the games of the season.

A proper ding-dong, to-and-fro classic ended in a point each as Leicester came back from 3-1 down to claim a remarkable 3-3 draw.

An Oli McBurnie double and Joh Fleck piledriver saw the Blades race into a lead with just 20 minutes remaining.

But Sheffield native Jamie Vardy was on hand to score two of his own late on to rescue the most valuable of points.

With their takeover imminent, all the talk around Newcastle has been whether Steve Bruce will still be in charge next season.

But he went a long way to confirming his place in the dugout this afternoon after masterminding a superb win over José Mourinho’s Tottenham.

St James’ Park was rocking as Joelinton, Miguel Almiron, Matty Longstaff and Allan Saint-Maximin all scored in a 4-0 rout.

The pick of them came from Almiron, who ran almost the entire length of the pitch before chipping it over Hugo Lloris.
