Recent reports have claimed that Paratici is the leading candidate for the role, although ex-Lazio director and striker Igli Tare remains a strong competitor.

Il Corriere della Sera (via Milannews) reports that Furlani will talk to Paratici today or tomorrow to discuss his possible appointment in 2025-26. Paratici is serving a ban until June but could still start working as an external advisor.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also reported three other names for the job: Kim Falkenberg (Bayer Leverkusen), Thiago Scuro (Monaco) and Markus Krösche of Eintracht Frankfurt. However, these last three candidates all lack experience in Italian football, contrary to Paratici and Tare.

Paratici won nine Serie A titles at Juventus, first as a sporting director and then as a Chief Football Officer.
