Barcelona are bracing for their third encounter of the season with Real Madrid and as customs go, the team from Catalonia will feature a special kit for this year’s El Clasico, collaborating with Colombian singer Karol G.

Thanks to the sponsorship deal with Spotify, Barcelona have been able to attract several global celebrities to their matches in the past, especially during key league clashes.

The upcoming game at the renovated Santiago Bernabeu won’t be any different, as Xavi’s team will proudly showcase the Karol G logo on their jerseys as they take to the field.

First look at the new shirt

Images of the new limited-edition kit were released recently by the club and the unique logo on the t-shirt depicts a heart entwined with thorns, mirroring the tattoo proudly worn by Karol G on her arm.

“The tattoo represents a moment in my life in which I questioned myself a lot, I became stronger and I weakened a lot.  It was a very important moment for me personally, not for my career. For Carolina,” said the artist (h/t SPORT).

A trend of collaboration

The trend of collaborating with renowned artists kicked off in 2022 for Barcelona when rapper Drake joined forces for their match at the Santiago Bernabeu. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on Barça’s side as they ended up losing the game.

Next up was Rosalia and her ‘Motomami’. The Catalan singer proved to be a lucky charm as Barça managed to secure a tight 2-1 victory against Madrid at the Camp Nou.

In the latest showdown, held in Montjuic during the first round, the Rolling Stones lent their support. The match saw Ilkay Gundogan scoring an early goal, but Barcelona were thwarted by Jude Bellingham’s brace.
