It might be a new season but Cole Palmer hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down following his incredible debut campaign for Chelsea.

The task facing Palmer was always going to be whether he could replicate or even better his form from the previous campaign.

Teams will be aware of what Palmer is capable of and he will certainly be targeted by the opposition more, but whether they can stop him is a different question.

If the first three games of the season are anything to go by then it appears not and Palmer has made a brilliant start with a return of four assists and one goal, which was a brilliant lobbed effort in the 6-2 win against Wolves.

The assist for Nicolas Jackson against Palace took Palmer to 15 assists since the start of last season and according to Who Scored the England international has now provided more assists than any other player since the start of the 2023/2024 season.

Palmer has started this season better than his breakout campaign and if he continues this form he could be set for another very special season, and despite all the money Chelsea have spent on attacking talent they are likely to still be reliant on the 22-year-old.
