Axel Disasi withdrew from the latest French squad after being called up initially as a late replacement, and there were fears that he was suffering with a thigh injury sustained against Burnley.

Disasi though was back at Cobham and looked in good spirits on the bicycle machine as Chelsea start hardcore preparations for this weekend’s huge clash against London rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

The French defender has been a staple in defence under Mauricio Pochettino and it is expected he will start next to Thiago Silva if he is fit.

He will be tasked with trying to deal with Gabriel Jesus or Eddie Nketiah, who are likely to test his defensive skills and agility, as both love to twist and turn their way in and around the box.
