Chelsea’s defender contractual situations in the last few months can only be described as a rollercoaster ride.

Up, down, positive, negative, and anything in between. That is the way these stories have been going recently and we are still no clearer to knowing whether Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Cesar Azpilicueta will be at Chelsea beyond the summer when they become free agents.

It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!

For the purpose of the latest rollercoaster story we are talking about the club captain, Azpilicueta, and reports yesterday that he had agreed to join Barcelona this summer.

Chelsea journalist for The Athletic, Liam Twomey has thrown shade over these rumours and believes that nothing has been decided yet despite these fresh claims in Spain.

He says that Azpilicueta wants to meet again with Chelsea first before making a decision on his future, whilst also confirming Barcelona’s interest.

I’m sure we will be hearing a lot more on this yet.
