Oliver Glasner is expecting Mainz to cause his side problems on Saturday, but the head coach is optimistic ahead of the final game of his first six months in Frankfurt.

...personnel: “As well as Hauge, Tuta will miss out through suspension. Lenz has picked up a calf muscle injury and won’t be available. Jakic will most likely miss out, he’s got a lot of pain in his hip. I’m not completely ruling him out. Barkok has got a slight ligament strain. Ilsanker is fit again.”

…the final game of 2021: “I’m expecting a fierce contest. Mainz are doing very well. Their coach’s influence is clear to see. They make the spaces tight, press aggressively and attack at speed. It’s going to be a test.”

…Eintracht’s turnaround during the first half of the campaign: “There’s no main reason. It was more about the thing we – including Marcus Krösche – always emphasized: we needed patience with the players. It’s almost impossible to have more upheaval than we had. There was quite a lot going on. We’ve massively improved in our attacking play, but you have to also say we’ve conceded too many goals lately. We want to address that again from January.”

…identifying with the club: “I really enjoy working with these players because I see how much they’re trying, even when it doesn’t all go to plan. There are a lot of upfront people working for the club. Among all the diligence we can also have a laugh with each other. I’m really happy in the city and our fans are fantastic. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to experience a full Deutsche Bank Park yet. I’m looking forward to that day.”
