‘I’m angry’… Barcelona captain left frustrated after recent loss to Las Palmas

FC Barcelona continue their struggles in La Liga and it is clear to see that the team needs to change something. Hansi Flick’s players have managed to collect just one point from their last three games, and that is simply unacceptable. Even their most recent display against Las Palmas saw Barcelona be completely outplayed.

With this recent 1-2 loss at the Montjuic Stadium, Barça have now given a golden opportunity to Real Madrid to win their two games in hand and take over the top spot in the league. However, the least Barcelona can do is turn things around and improve from now on.

Raphinha himself, the team captain and the only player who was able to score against Las Palmas in the recent fixture, spoke about the match after the final whistle and did not hesitate to say that the team needs to do better. As highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian forward seemed to be quite frustrated:

“We’ve been doing poorly. We’re lowering the level of what we were doing. There are many things we are doing wrong. We have to turn things around on Tuesday. I’m angry, I don’t care much about my goal.”

While Lamine Yamal returned for this game, even the youngster was unable to have a significant impact. All in all, Hansi Flick’s side was left disappointed and completely nullified by Las Palmas, and what makes this performance even more embarrassing is the fact that it came right after the club’s 125th anniversary.

The next match for La Blaugrana will be on Tuesday against Mallorca away from home. While it does not need to be said, it is clear that the Catalan giants simply cannot afford to drop any more points. Whether or not Real Madrid win their own games, Barcelona needs to make sure that they do not falter again.
