The Clarets are the runaway leaders in the Sky Bet Championship at the moment and it would take an incredible collapse for them to miss out on automatic promotion to the Premier League now.

Indeed, they’ve been brilliant this year but they did not rest on their laurels in January, with Lyle Foster and Michael Obafemi both arriving during the market.

Obafemi is a player, of course, that knows the league already having been playing for Swansea and so we asked our FLW fan pundit for the Clarets, Ben Livingstone, what he thought about the deal:

“Yeah I’m a big fan of Obafemi as I mentioned before and I wanted us to sign him in the summer.

“It’s an obligation to buy from the way that the deal structured and I think it’s a good move. I think we need another young striker, we’ve brought in Lyle Foster but I don’t think there’ll be too much competition and they’ll both get plenty of game time. I think it’s a good move all around all parties.”

Obafemi could be a real hit for the Clarets and it’s a positive sign for the club that they are looking to add all the time even when they are storming to promotion.

It’s an exciting time to be a Burnley fan at the moment and the Clarets’ supporters will be eager to see what Obafemi can do for them in the weeks ahead.
