Internacional de Valle midfielder Moises Caicedo is on his way to England to sign with Brighton.

Caicedo is set to fly into England today to seal a £4.5m switch with the Seagulls holding off Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea to land the youngster.

The 19-year-old midfielder had emerged as a target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's table toppers, after becoming the first player born in the 21st century to ever score in CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying with a goal in Ecuador's 4-2 win over Uruguay.

However, Sky Sports report that the Independiente Del Valle star is on the verge of joining Graham Potter's side, who have agreed to a 20 per cent sell on clause for any future deal.

A work permit has already been arranged and the youngster will travel to England on Friday, with elite sportsmen and women exempt from the travel ban currently imposed on South America.

Potter remained coy over the expected arrival when asked in the build-up to the Seagulls' FA Cup fourth-round clash with Blackpool.

"There's always speculation, a bit of noise around things, but until anyone is a Brighton player, I can't really elaborate on anything," he said.
