Michael Nicholson was asked today at the Celtic PLC AGM about one of the controversial incidents that occurred during Celtic’s 2-1 at Ibrox back in April in the cinch Premiership match, when Joe Hart had to alter the referee head of the second half kicking off that there was broken glass on the pitch.

The game was stopped for several minutes as a search was made of the penalty area at the Copeland Road end of the ground and prior to this drama a Celtic official had his head split open as he headed to the dressing room after the whistle was blown for the break.

“How did the glass get into the penalty box?” a Celtic shareholder asked the Celtic CEO today at the Celtic PLC AGM, to which Michael Nicolson replied: “An investigation was carried out. We received an apology. Not sure how the glass ended up on the pitch.”

The Celtic shareholder’s follow-up point was: “No CCTV ? That’s a poor show” and the Celtic CEO agreed:”I was told there was no CCTV and agree it’s a poor show.”

“I don’t know…I didn’t receive any update on how that got on the pitch. We were told there was no CCTV. It’s a poor show but we’ll discuss that with the club in question privately and appropriately,” Michael Nicholson
