Milan’s Serie A form suffered another stumble following a lifeless performance at Udinese.

The hosts, meanwhile, impressed on the night and demonstrated they were well up for the challenge right from the kick-off when Richard Pereyra got on the end of a loose ball for the breakthrough before 10 minutes were up.

Rafael Leão, Sandro Tonali and Brahim Díaz tried to drive the visitors forward, but some veteran experience was needed to draw level.

Making his first start in over a year and captaining the side, Zlatan Ibrahimović became the oldest goalscorer in Serie A history (41 years and 166 days) thanks to a re-taken penalty after his first was saved.

In the flurry of action, Udinese’s manager Andrea Sottil was also sent off with a red card before the equaliser and out for the second half.

But, the hosts would then retake the lead within seconds as Beto turned things 2-1 with an instinctual finish in the box.

Coming out into the second half, Milan struggled to try and find their spark, which led to Udinese extending their lead.

Pressure from the hosts and a slip from Malick Thiaw led to Kingsley Ehizibue tabbing home at the back post for 3-1, securing the win for the hosts.

It’s now three league matches in a row where Milan dropped points, including two losses, and the fourth-place side could drop further down the table depending on how Roma and Juventus do this weekend.

Udinese, meanwhile, are level with the team from Turin and sit eighth.
