AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recalled all the details of his quarrel with Romelu Lukaku during last season’s Coppa Italia clash against Inter.

Ibrahimovic spoke to the newspaper as part of a promotion for his new book Adrenalina which is out tomorrow, which takes a look back at his rise to becoming one of the game’s biggest stars. As part of it, he spoke about his clash with Lukaku last season.

The Swede and the Belgian dominated the headlines earlier this year when the pair had a very heated altercation during the Coppa Italia quarter-final meeting between the two sides at San Siro.

Ibra said something which certainly rattled his former team-mate, who had to be calmed by other Inter players as the half-time whistle blew. After their altercation, a war of words ensued through social media with both proclaiming to be the ruler of Milan, but now Lukaku is back in West London.

“The Coppa Italia derby. He first argued with Romagnoli, then with Saelemaekers. I intervened to defend my team-mates and Lukaku attacked me on a personal level. I was shocked. We ever were team-mates at Manchester United,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).

“Lukaku has a big ego, he thinks he’s a champion and he’s really strong. But I grew up in the Malmö ghetto, and when someone comes under me with his head down, I put him in his place.

“So, I hit him in his sweet spot: his Mum’s rituals – and he lost control. Although, I still have a terrible doubt. We lost that derby. I was sent off. Then I got injured. A lot of bad things happened. You’ll see that the Lukaku rituals really got me?

“I asked my believing friends to pray for me. I have to settle the bill with him too. I hope to meet him soon. On the street? No, these are things that must be resolved on the pitch. I don’t hate anyone, much less Lukaku.”
