Zlatan Ibrahimovic was present at AC Milan’s 125th anniversary party last night and he made a short speech on stage in front of everyone.

The Swede has been the subject of some rather negative headlines over the past few days, such as after Sunday’s game against Genoa when some fans made their thoughts clear on the way the club is being run.

When he was shown on screen at the match there was a smattering of jeers, showing unhappiness at the current path. That continued with the protest that took place outside the entrance to the private party last night, all while the management avoided it by going in another entrance.

Ibrahimovic has just reached one year as a Senior Advisor to RedBird Capital and the Milan management, and he wanted to address the attendees on stage.

“For me, Milan is very special. In this room there is so much history between players and employees,” he said (via MilanPress).

“I was lucky to have played for Milan and to have won with this shirt, even if not like others here who have won much more than me. I am very honoured to be here and to be a Milan fan. So many emotions pass. Milan is a big family and I am honoured to feel part of it.”
