Zlatan Ibrahimović hasn’t signed a new deal yet as talks are ongoing but he’ll almost certainly be there next year.

Ibra’s contract with Milan expired on June 30, but there is little doubt that the parties want to continue together, despite the fact that Zlatan is currently recovering from knee surgery.

“He is doing well, he is recovering from a serious injury. I hope I’ll be able to work with him again because he is a Champion in everything,” coach Stefano Pioli said yesterday when asked about Ibra. “I hope to see him as soon as possible: he is talking with the Club and the directors to negotiate a new deal. If all goes well, I hope to see him as soon as possible. He’ll need time to get back to fitness.”

As reported by Milannews.it, talks are underway between Milan and Ibra for a new deal. Reports suggested that he would sign a bridge contract worth around €100k until January. He would need to be under contract in order to rehabilitate at Milanello for issues related to insurance.

According to il Corriere della Sera, the Swede is not expected back at the training ground before August. In the meantime he continues his recovery process with good results and the objective to return to being available for selection and return to playing football with Milan in January.

While Zlatan is absent, Olivier Giroud and Divock Origi will lead the line for the Diavolo.
