Ibrahima Konate has quickly impressed his new teammates at Liverpool.

The Frenchman joined the Premier League side on a £35million transfer deal from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig as boss Jurgen Klopp looked to boost his defensive options.

He made 14 appearances in the Bundesliga, helping to keep six clean sheets, as Julian Nagelsmann's side finished as runners-up to Bayern Munich.

His performances, though limited, drew the eye of Liverpool, who successfully moved to sign him at the start of this summer's transfer window.

The Athletic reports Konate has made a “big impression" on his new team-mates and coaching staff at their preseason camp in Salzburg.

The defender's performances in training would appear to prove the validity of Liverpool's decision to prioritise his transfer.
