BILD are reporting that PSV’s Ibrahim Sangaré and Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips have become Bayern Munich’s latest transfer targets. The Bundesliga champions have identified the midfielders as cheaper alternatives to Declan Rice, who West Ham value at £100m.
Ibrahim Sangaré has been a standout player for PSV ever since he joined from Toulouse in 2020. The Ivorian defensive midfielder should reportedly cost at least €35m. Sangaré is still in contract at the Philips Stadion until 2027, but it was recently revealed that the 25-year-old will definitely be leaving Eindhoven this summer. Last season Sangaré featured 45 times in all competitions as PSV finished second in the Eredivisie and won the KNVB Cup.
Another alternative to Declan Rice, is Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips. The England international has struggled for game time under Pep Guardiola ever since his £42m move from Leeds United. The 27-year-old could be available for much less than what City paid for him last summer. Manchester City are reportedly close to signing Declan Rice from West Ham. Rice had previously been a Bayern Munich transfer target.
