Ibrahim Salah will no longer wear the colors of Stade Rennais. According to reports on August 30, an agreement has been reached between the 23-year-old, Rennes, and FC Basel in Switzerland. It’s a fresh start aimed at reigniting his career.

Having arrived in Rennes in January 2023 from Gent (Belgium), Ibrahim Salah never truly managed to secure a significant role in the Breton squad. Despite a few promising appearances, he was often used as a substitute or left on the bench. In total, he played 21 games for Rennes, scoring just 2 goals.

With this transfer, which will cost the Swiss club €2 million, Ibrahim Salah hopes to get his career back on track at a club likely to offer him more playing time and a more central role. FC Basel, well known for developing young talents, seems like the ideal destination for a player seeking confidence and consistency.
