Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has announced that midfielder Ianis Hagi will miss the rest of the campaign through injury.
The Romania international picked up a knee injury in the Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion which forced him to London to see a specialist.
And after undergoing surgery, the news is not good for the Gers.
“Ianis needed an operation,” Van Bronckhorst revealed. “He went for this yesterday and we will sadly be missing Ianis for the season.
“I spoke to Ianis yesterday and he is positive and focused on his recovery.”
However, there is at least some good personnel news for the Dutchman, who will welcome Joe Aribo back ahead of schedule after Nigeria’s AFCON elimination.
“Joe Aribo is travelling back today and will be back in Glasgow tonight,” he added. “We will assess him on his return, he will be back for sure come the weekend.”
