Arsenal have dropped points in eight Premier League games this season and are currently six points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand.
The Gunners will have to improve significantly in the remaining 22 games of the 2024-25 campaign if they are to have any chance of winning the title, and the January transfer window could give them an opportunity to bolster their squad with much-needed quality additions.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal have any plans to make major recruitment next month, but Ian Wright believes bringing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush to Emirates Stadium could help turn their season around.
“There are two players I would probably go for,” the Gunners legend said on Wrighty’s House when asked which player he would sign to help turn the season of his old club around.
“I would like people to have a look at Omar Marmoush and Ademola Lookman at Atalanta.”
Marmoush has been in explosive form at the Bundesliga club this season, with 18 goals and 12 assists to his name in 23 appearances, and Arsenal could do with such an attacker in their ranks.
The 25-year-old Egypt international ended last term with 17 goals and six assists in 41 matches and has proven his quality in the final third over the last 18 months.
He will not be short of offers next month and at the end of the season, but Frankfurt will not be keen on losing him mid-way through an impressive campaign.
Suitors would have wait until next summer to have a realistic chance of landing him, and Arsenal would be wise to join in his pursuit.
Marmoush plays on the left and centrally, and the North London club could do with upgrades in those two positions.
Frankfurt have slammed a €50 million price tag on his head ahead of the next summer window, and landing such a player for that price is a deal Arsenal should be desperate to get over the line.
