Arsenal lost a game for the second time in the Premier League this season on Saturday.

Everton ran out 1-0 deserved winners at Goodison Park at the Gunners’ expense. It was the Toffees’ first game under new manager Sean Dyche.

The former Burnley boss led them to their fourth league victory of the campaign.

The win moved Everton up by a place to 18th in the table and it will have handed them a massive boost in morale.

However, the result dealt a blow to Arsenal’s title aspirations.

They were hoping to extend their five-point gap at the top of the table to eight, but Everton had other ideas.

Gunners legend Ian Wright was disappointed with the result but credited Everton and their manager for putting in the work.

Wright took to his Twitter account to react after the game:

Every club will be keen to prove themselves against the league leaders, and Arsenal must bounce back quickly from this loss.

They were not clinical enough in front of goal against Dyche’s side and it cost them.

A lapse in concentration from their defence also allowed James Tarkowski to bag the only goal of the game from Dwight McNeil’s corner.

The north London club had 30 minutes to draw level and find a winner afterwards. However, Everton held on to all three points with their lives.

They travel to Anfield on February 13 to face Liverpool, and not many people will bet against them.

Arsenal face Brentford next Saturday before hosting Manchester City four days later.

The results of those games could have a huge say on the title race.
