Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Victor Adeboyejo from Burton Albion on a three-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee, as was confirmed late on Friday evening.
The Nigerian has scored 11 goals in League One so far this season for the relegation-battling Brewers and he has bolstered the Trotters’ backline as they target a play-off finish.
Injuries to Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Dan N’Lundulu had left Wanderers a little light at the top of the pitch, but the club deserve an enormous amount of credit for landing Cameron Jerome and Adeboyejo ahead of this weekend’s action.
Ian Evatt was delighted to get the deal over the line when he spoke to the club’s website.
He said: “Victor has some brilliant attributes.
“He’s very technical and his technical ability is underestimated.
“He’s played a lot of games in the Championship and is a really good finisher.
“This season has been his first consistent season as a number nine and we see him very much as a number nine.
“We think there’s a high ceiling there which we can improve again and at his age and profile he can have plenty of growth and progress with us.
“He’s going to get a lot more chances with us than with Burton and we think he’s going to be a really good fit for us.”
The 25-year-old will likely make his debut from the bench at Charlton Athletic this afternoon.

Bolton are one of the more financially capable sides in the third tier, and they have demonstrated that again in this transfer window.
The Trotters enjoyed a very strong January window last season that helped to propel them up the table, and this time around Evatt will be hoping the new additions can secure them a play-off berth.
The recent form of Derby County and the excellent leading trio in the third tier – Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town – will likely see Bolton competing for fifth or sixth this season, which would represent great progress in just their second campaign since promotion from League Two.
