Paris Saint-Germain has come close in previous seasons to winning the UEFA Champions League competition. For one, PSG was eliminated in the Champions League semifinal round at the hands of Manchester City last season.

Angel Di Maria is still not giving up on his aspiration to win the Champions League over his current run with the French powerhouse. In speaking to Telefoot, the Argentine playmaker opened up on just what it would mean to him to claim this honor with the Ligue 1 giants.

“I would swap my 17 trophies with PSG for a Champions League,” Di Maria said. “We’re not far, we need that little bit of luck to win it. To leave PSG without winning it would be hard.”

Di Maria has won the Champions League competition before. He played one vital role in Real Madrid’s Champions League-winning run over the 2013-2014 season.

Now, Di Maria is well aiming to tag along with the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar to lead PSG to its first-ever triumph in Europe’s biggest and most prestigious club football competition.
