As much comes as Deco and co. scour the market for a new profile to add depth to Hansi Flick’s options on the flanks.

At one point, it appeared as though Barcelona had found their man, only for Nico Williams to shock the masses in putting pen to paper on a new contract with Athletic Club.

In the days since, the likes of Luis Díaz and Marcus Rashford have been hotly tipped to link up with the Blaugrana for next season.

One individual, however, of the opinion that the best option would be to promote from within is the aforementioned Pedro.

Speaking during an interview with Jijantes, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, this week, ex-Barca attacker Pedro revealed his take that:

“I would opt for a player from the youth academy that you can work with and polish. And obviously one that has the level. Bringing in a star player always generates more excitement, but Barça is interested in adjusting one or two pieces and continuing to structure the rest with the youth academy.”
