RB Leipzig recently signed the 19-year-old from Dinamo Zagreb for a transfer fee of €18.80 million.

“From a young age, I watched Liverpool games with my dad and I grew up with just them,” Gvardiol told 24hr Sata.

“When I took football more seriously, I started following them, and I definitely want the Premier League and Liverpool move one day.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Liverpool have never genuinely been linked with Gvardiol.

However, we do like that the defender has a desire to play for the Reds. Gvardiol’s aforementioned comments highlight that he would not take the opportunity for granted. We want those sort of characters at the club.

Gvardiol is an experienced youngster. The defender has made 52 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb’s first-team. Gvardiol has also made one appearance for Croatia.

The aforementioned figures highlight that Gvardiol is a promising young player. If he can perform for RB Leipzig, then who knows, perhaps Liverpool might try to sign him one day.
