‘I want to win everything’: Eduardo Camavinga has big ambitions for Real Madrid and Les Bleus

Eduardo Camavinga (21) has already had quite the career. After moving to Real Madrid from Stade Rennais back in 2021 aged just 18, the young Frenchman seems to have taken being at the pinnacle of the game in his stride, impressing for Real Madrid and also for Les Bleus.

It will come as no surprise to anyone that the Angolan-born Camavinga, whose first two years of life were spent in a refugee camp before arriving in France at two years old, has exceptionally high ambitions for club and country, as he told French football programme Téléfoot yesterday:

“This year’s objective is to win everything with Real Madrid, to maintain our lead in La Liga and to perform both in the league and in the Champions League. You have to win everything here. It’s possible we play PSG in the quarter-finals, we aren’t scared of anyone. PSG is a great team like all the others, so we’ll have to give everything to win.”

For Camavinga, it’s not only a big year at club level, but also on the international stage. The 21-year-old is likely to be called up to Didier Deschamps’ squad for Euro 2024 taking place in Germany in June, and would also be interested in representing France in the Olympic Games that take place in Paris through the end of July and August:

“It’s every Frenchman’s objective to win the Euros. Of course I want to win. We are always favourites in the big competitions, we have a very strong team with young players and leaders who play in big clubs throughout Europe. The tournament will be held in Germany, close to France so I’m sure we’ll have alot of support. The Olympics are also an aim, especially as they’re taking place in France, it’s not everyday we get to participate in the Olympics! First of all, we’re thinking of the Euros and then we can see what happens afterwards.”

Real Madrid and France can expect big things from Eduardo Camavinga this year.
