Marcin Bulka (24) has responded to rumours that he wants to leave OGC Nice this summer, telling Nice-Matin programme Gym Tonic that he expects to remain with Les Aiglons next season.

The Polish international has had to remain patient over the course of his career. After leaving Chelsea at a young age to join Paris Saint-Germain, he did not find the game time that he desired, and in the wake of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s arrival at the club, it was clear that he was not the No.1 elect.

After joining Nice, initially on loan and then permanently in the summer of 2022, Bulka once again found himself as the No.2. That changed at the start of this season as he won the battle against Kasper Schmeichel for the No.1 jersey. Since, Bulka has gone on to impose himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Ligue 1.

Premier League shows interest in Nice goalkeeper

However, last week, Foot Mercato alluded to a potential move away from the Allianz Riviera this summer, citing Bulka’s desire for a new challenge amidst interest from the Premier League. However, he has now seemingly committed his short-term future to Nice.

“The club gave me the chance that I expected. I am very proud to wear Nice’s colours. I am very attached to the club, very connected with the fans and 100% focused here. It is like a family, like at home. I think we’ll stay together [next season],” said Bulka.

However, given Bulka’s performances, the big clubs may still come knocking and a lucrative offer may be difficult to refuse for Le Gym.
