The Honduran wide man revealed that he sought guidance from his national coach, Reinaldo Rueda, before deciding to leave the Hoops.
Palma could well make his first appearance for the Polish champions in their 2nd round Champions League qualifier against Icelandic title-holders Breidablik. It is one to keep an eye on as Lech Poznan could be one of the teams Brendan Rodgers’ side face in the play-off round next month.
However, Lech Poznan’s season has begun poorly, with a loss to Legia Warsaw in the Polish Super Cup followed by a heavy 4–1 home defeat to Cracovia in Friday’s league opener which has put boss Niels Frederiksen under slight pressure.
Yet Palma is keen to leave his mark in a new environment. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Olympiacos but only scored one goal during his time in Greece.

Speaking about his move to Poland via Glasgow Times, the 25 year-old said: “I am very happy with the move. I’m delighted to be joining my new club and it was all done very quickly.”
“I spoke with Celtic and it was my decision to look elsewhere. I don’t know too much about the Polish League, except that it’s a good league, with big stadiums and big clubs.”
“I am going to learn a lot about football there. My goal is to play as much as possible and make a good impression. I spoke to Reinaldo Rueda about the move, but I did so more as a friend.”
All the best to Luis. He clearly has talent, but Rodgers wants quality throughout his entire squad not just the first XI, and the Honduran has failed to deliver when he has been given opportunity after opportunity.
By every passing day, the optics of the 2023 summer transfer window just gets worse and worse.
