A player has now opened up on his future after a roller-coaster time at Chelsea in recent seasons, and it seems that he has well and truly made his mind up.

Chelsea have signed many new player in the last few seasons, and perhaps one of the biggest criticisms is that they have signed a bunch of young players but some of them will never play for the senior team and just get sold on after one or two seasons.

The Blues recently signed Diego Moreira, but he didn’t really get much of a chance to shine in the first team and spent most of last season just playing for Chelsea U21s.

This summer he was at a crossroads and then decided to join Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg, who are also owned by BlueCo, who are Chelsea’s owners.

Being at a BlueCo club means the door is always open for a return to Chelsea in the future, but it doesn’t look like Moreira has any interest in doing that.

La Dernière Heure has a detailed chat with the former Chelsea player, who expressed his delight over joining Strasbourg.

The Belgium-born Portugal U21 international has signed a deal until 2029 at Strasbourg. The outlet points that out, after saying his adventure at the west London club is ‘definitely over’.

“And I see myself staying here. Since I got here, it’s been a relief. I rediscover this joy of playing football, of having fun. Then everything is great: the coach, the club, the infrastructure, the quality of life, the city,” he said.
