“I love them mate, I couldn’t be happier,” Ange Postecoglou on Celtic’s title triumph

Ange Postecoglou hasn’t had his troubles to seek this week, after criticising folk inside Tottenham and the Spurs supporters for their behaviour before and during the home match against Manchester City.

Ange is a winner and he could stay silent about the supporters cheering a Manchester City goal and joining in their huddle celebrations – which they pinched from Celtic – because Tottenham losing frustrated Arsenal’s title chances.

And as you would expect called this out in no uncertain terms.

Compare and contract with Ange speaking about Celtic winning the title in midweek and as you would expect Ange was watching. He spoke about it being a difficult season for Celtic but how the Brendan and the players stepped up when it mattered most.

Ange said he knows the feeling that the players and management team would have had at the final whistle, knowing that they’d be going back to Celtic Park for that incredible reception.

And praise for the Celtic support was there, but remained unsaid as heaping deserved praise onto the Celtic support would have added further fuel to the fire with the Spurs fans who need to grow a pair and show that they want to follow a big club that aims at winning and won’t settle for anything less than success.

“I love them, mate. Yeah, brilliant,” Ange said. “Great people, great manager, great staff, great footballers, unbelievable club.

“I watched the game and I know, because I have experienced it, how they would have felt at that final whistle and then going back to Celtic Park late at night.

“It’s a pretty special place and credit to them, it was a difficult year for Brendan and the guys but when it mattered, when it counted they stood up and I couldn’t be happier for everyone there.”
