Billy Gilmour won’t play for Norwich tomorrow because he’s on loan from Chelsea, and is therefore ineligible.

But he also didn’t play in the Canaries’ last game, and there is a growing sense that the midfielder isn’t going to get what he wanted and needed from his temporary spell in East Anglia.

Thomas Tuchel was asked how he thought the loan was going in his press conference today, and he responded positively:

Fans are impatient to see their star boy getting minutes, which is understandable.

But as Tuchel says, Billy must earn his minutes, and must perform if he wants to play. If Daniel Farke thinks he can get better results with other players, he will always go with that option.

Gilmour must show him that he can be an integral part of a Norwich XI which doesn’t lose every week. We all know he has the ability – especially Tuchel.
