Chelsea defender Axel Disasi says he knew Cole Palmer would panenka his second penalty against Tottenham on Sunday and labels the Blues star man a ‘very chill guy’.
Palmer capped a scintillating display in the 4-3 win at Tottenham by cheekily chipping his second penalty beyond the helpless Fraser Forster to the surprise of nearly everyone in the stadium.
Disasi, however, knew it was coming before Palmer had even stepped up to convert, as the Frenchman hailed his Chelsea team mate on the eve of the mammoth journey to Kazakhstan to face Astana in the Conference League.
“I knew that he would do this panenka because I was on the bench with Kiernan [Dewsbury-Hall] and I told him that he will do this,” Disasi told reporters.
“I remember last year he did the same. I don’t remember which game but he did the same.
“Now I think that since one year and a half, you all know the quality of Cole.
“At this kind of moment he’s a very chill guy.”
Disasi will be part of Chelsea’s travelling contingent who will make the eight-hour trip to face Astana, while Palmer and several other first-team stars will be rested ahead of Sunday’s clash against Brentford.
