I hear things less than cordial at boardroom level between Arsenal and Newcastle United

I know that Liverpool have been an annoying irritant to Newcastle United and our fans for a considerable amount of time.
The self-entitlement of the red scousers seemingly knows no bounds and they have always descended around St James’ Park, slyly and hungrily looking for easy pickings.
In the past it wasn’t hard to entice players like Terry McDermott, Alan Kennedy, Peter Beardsley and even more recently, Andy Carroll and Jose Enrique, simply because we had poor owners with little or no ambition.
Thankfully those days are gone and Newcastle United can offer burgeoning talent a vision and pathway to potential success.
The Septic cartel who have had the FA and the Premier League in their back pockets for longer than I care to remember, don’t like the thought of a progressive Newcastle United who won’t roll over and have their bellies tickled anymore.
I’m going to leave Manchester City out of this because they too have the same tiresome ‘state-owned’ label as ourselves. Of course when they were taken over in 2008, all of the current Financial Fair Play regulations and Profit and Sustainability rules didn’t exist.
I have recently read claims that relations at boardroom level between Arsenal and Newcastle are, shall I say, less than cordial.
It seems that Arsenal in particular hate the fact that Newcastle United were the second Premier League club to become state-owned.
Of course, we also stopped them from finishing in fourthth position in the EPL in the 2021/22 season when we beat them at St James’ Park (ensuring their rivals Spurs qualified for the Champions League at Arsenal’s expense).
Arsenal, their petulant manager, the London media, and their sulking fans, also don’t seem to have ever got THAT Anthony Gordon goal on the 4th November 2023 out of their heads.
With Arsenal eventually losing the title by two points to Manchester City, it made that goal by Flash all the more sweeter for me.
I know some people will be thinking I am stoking up unnecessary rivalries but let us get one thing clear. The Arsenals, Liverpools, Man Us, Chelseas and Spurs of this world, are already our sworn enemies.
These are the teams that were vehemently against our takeover, that we are going to have to break down on and off the pitch if we are to achieve what the NUFC owners crave. That is, a successful Newcastle United qualifying for the Champions League year on year.
As the season approaches, just remember that we owe nobody anything, and most of the clubs in the EPL are not our friends.
That is the attitude that will be required if Newcastle United are to reach the heights we are capable of.
I love entertaining football but don’t really care for being anyone’s second team anymore. That happened in the 1990s, and was thrown back in our faces when we won nowt.
I want Newcastle United to be ruthless from here on. We have a hell of a set of fixtures to get us off to a flyer and I want to put as many of the Septics to the sword as possible this season.
