“I guess” – Reece James gives honest views on Donald Trump joining Chelsea’s CWC trophy lift | OneFootball

Just when you think you have seen it all, Donald Trump joins in with Chelsea’s Club World Cup trophy lift in America!

Chelsea won the Club World Cup last night after beating European Champions PSG 3-0 in what was actually a very comfortable win for Enzo Maresca’s side.

I don’t think anyone expected it to be so easy for Chelsea on the night after two goals from Cole Palmer and then a third from Joao Pedro finished off what many people say is the best team in the world at the moment.

But I also don’t think anyone was expecting the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to be joining in with Chelsea’s trophy lift!

But he did!

Trump bizarrely stayed with the Chelsea team after handing them their medals and then the trophy, whilst captain Reece James lifted it.

Everyone was surprised, and Cole Palmer has already reacted to Trump being there saying he was confused by it, and I think many people will say the same.

I guess it’s always been very clear that Trump does enjoy the limelight, but this was just very odd in my opinion.

As I noted, captain Reece James lifted the trophy for Chelsea and was joined by Trump.

James has reacted to Trump being there. He said:

“I wasn’t expecting him [Trump] to lift the trophy with us, but I guess it shows just how big the tournament is. He just congratulated me and the team and told us to enjoy the moment.”

I wonder if Trump is looking for a slice of the Chelsea pie! After all, he did walk out onto the pitch with Chelsea’s co-owner, Todd Boehly!

I’m only joking, of course. At least, I hope!
