Wesley Fofana believes his performance in Sunday’s draw against Arsenal was his best since returning from his ACL injury.
The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, but the point moves them into third place heading into the international break.
For the second weekend in succession Chelsea found themselves a goal down after Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring, only for Pedro Neto to equalise with a brilliant shot, but the Blues couldn’t find a winner.
There have been question marks over Chelsea’s defending this season but against the Gunners they defended well, although the goal they conceded was poor on a number of levels.
Reece James was surprisingly left on the bench as Enzo Maresca opted to play Marc Cucurella at left back and Malo Gusto at right back.
As has been the case this season Fofana once again started alongside Levi Colwill, a partnership Noni Madueke described as perfect.

With every game Fofana seems to not only be getting fitter but also improving, and Robbie Mustoe has claimed he’s a potential superstar.
Maresca has already said earlier this season he loves Fofana and the Frenchman put in an impressive performance against Arsenal, one he himself described as his best since returning from injury.
“I think this was my best [performance since returning from injury],” he told Chelsea’s website.
“Against Arsenal as well, a London derby, I’m very happy. I gave everything on the pitch, I give everything for the club. I need to continue like this.”
Fofana and Colwill look like they are starting to form a strong partnership and given they are both 21 and 23 respectively it’s a pairing that could serve Chelsea for many years to come.

In further good news for the Blues, Fofana confirmed that he would be remaining at Chelsea for the international break rather than joining up with France.
Chelsea’s next fixture is away at Fofana’s former club Leicester where he’s sure to be in for a hostile reception given the circumstances in which he left the Foxes.
